We were excited to receive an open letter from the Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme & Minister for Government Services, the Hon Bill Shorten MP, acknowledging our contribution to supporting people with disability through the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is great recognition of the sector’s effort over the last three years.
His letter is also a timely reminder that the pandemic is not over, and the most vulnerable and at-risk populations still need to be protected against the risk of serious illness and death from COVID-19.
The team at Sylvanvale continues to work hard to keep the people we support safe. When a participant tests positive, our teams spring into action, isolating the positive person from other residents, wearing full PPE, getting the person access to antivirals as quickly as possible, keeping the site well-ventilated and constantly wiping down areas that infected people have come into contact with.
We are also encouraging all our staff to keep up to date with vaccination, which remains our best shield against COVID-19 – especially as we move towards winter 2023.
